Hoop's new album implements the use of brass, along with her beautifully unique melodies and harmonies, intricate instrumentation, and uncommon time signatures. Her music is far from the factory-style compositions that fill our TikTok feeds. Instead, the experience of listening to her music is akin to that of sitting at a fine art gallery, observing every nuance of the piece before you . She is truly a master at her craft, painting the auditory canvas with every color at her fingertips. This new album sounds deeply influenced by Native American rhythms and melodies, which are then stripped down and washed with Hoop's delicate vocals as she dances around the scales.

Son Little released his new album Like Neptune Friday, September 9th via ANTI- Records.
Like Neptune begins with a soulful, celebratory track "drummer" which feels like a welcome party to the album. Each song that follows uses a different array of instrumentation - pointing to the versatile nature of Son Little's writing. He creates soulful blues songs that contain a dynamic range of heavy to minimal instrumentation along with his raw vocals. Even just the tone of his voice tells a story - one that is deeply complex and full of emotion. It's true, Son Little has a way of making us feel pain, yearning, and hope all in the time is takes to listen through the album.
